"If you want to know Armenia, you must come to Gyumri,” is a statement profoundly believed by all citizens of Shirak’s capital town. During our tour, besides visiting Dashtadem- the medieval fortress of Aragatsotn province, we will also visit Gyumri, the second-largest city in Armenia.
Gyumri is one of the main cultural and industrial centers of the Republic of Armenia. Throughout the tour, we will visit the old streets of the town and the Black Fortress. One of the must-visits in Gyumri is Ponchik-Monchik cafe. A cozy place in the heart of Gyumri where we will try the best donuts and pastries.
The next stop is The Gallery of Aslamazyan Sisters. The "Mariam and Yeranuhi Aslamazyan Sisters’ Gallery" houses a complete collection of the sisters' paintings, graphics, and pottery. About 620 original works donated by the sisters to the city of Leninakan are preserved here.
Our next stop is the "Cherkez" gorge. Ponds were built here; a fish farm was established using the cold water of the springs flowing in the gorge. Visitors taste the fish right next to the pools, enjoying the nature of the gorge, the fresh air, and the cold water.
